Introduction to Professional Floristry Part 2

Developed by the tutors at The Floristry School and designed as a follow-on course for students who have successfully completed the ITPF Part 1, this course will develop on the knowledge, skills and techniques from Part 1 and will enable you to be more confident with more technical floral designs.

Developed by the tutors at The Floristry School and designed as a follow-on course for students who have successfully completed the ITPF Part 1, this course will develop on the knowledge, skills and techniques from Part 1 and will enable you to be more confident with more technical floral designs.

 

This 10-week Part 2 course will delve further into the Elements and Principles of Design and will also develop your knowledge of Health & Safety and legislation required to be compliant whilst working safely in the industry.

 

With sustainability at the heart of the course, we will research historical designs and use interpretative methods to design various commercial pieces such as: Trend designs; Head dresses: Dried designs and we will again produce larger scale wired, glued and framework designs.

 

As on the Part 1 course, the Part 2 is split between theory and practical designing, and areas of study include:

 

  • Sustainable working practices
  • Historical floral art
  • Codes of Practice and legislation
  • The British Florist Association – their mission and support
  • Trend designs
  • Seasonal designs
  • Vegetative arrangements
  • Designs using structures and frameworks
  • Table decorations
  • Flower crowns and floral head dresses

 

This course is excellent for students wishing to develop their skills and knowledge in floral design and for those wanting to start a career in floristry.

 

Part 2:

Thursdays 6pm start – 8:30pm finish. £349.00 for the 10-week course.

 

The cost of the course does not include fresh materials – a suggested list of materials needed each week will be issued once students have enrolled on the course. 

 

Discounts for fresh materials for Floristry School Students have been negotiated at selected partner florists in the Sheffield area. 

 

A ‘goodie bag’ of essential floristry items for the course is included within the cost.

 

Any sundries, such as floral foam, moss, tape and wire can be purchased at TFS.

 

Once you have completed our Part 1 Introduction to Professional Floristry course you are able to apply to study on our Part 2 course.
